Leaf grown in the Pune district reaches a Pune kitchen the same day it is cut. That is the entire commercial argument for growing salad here rather than trucking it in, and it is why the crops that pay are the ones that travel worst.
A summer that needs planning for
April and May will push an unventilated structure well past what lettuce will tolerate. Ridge ventilation, shade net and attention to solution temperature are not optional extras here; they are the difference between a summer crop and a summer gap.
